MASSAGE THERAPY

Your body is miraculously working during your pregnancy and birth. Not only that: Your mind is preparing to become a mother for the first or subsequent time! That might feel overwhelming from time to time! You feel like you just need a break from over-thinking everything again and again. A massage could help you in achieving that goal: It can make you feel more relaxed, confident, trusting in your body and connected to your baby.

Is massage therapy only a wellness measure? – No, research suggests that:

Massage...

  • Is decreasing depression, anxiety, and leg and back pain
  • Leads to significantly less pain during labour
  • May cause less pain medication during labour
  • Can shorten labour about 3 hours
  • Can reduce postpartum depression and cortisol levels

EMH®- effective manual treatment...

This is a combination of techniques founded by an experienced German midwife. It combines for example muscle chain work, pressure point stimulation, cupping, bioenergetic work and other useful tools to help with many complaints during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. These tools can support and regulate the physiological balance on a hormonal, neurovegetative and muscular level.

Furthermore, the woman’s confidence in herself and her own perception is strengthened, well-being is increased and stress is minimised. The positive effects also have an impact on the baby.

The core of the EMH® is the “pelvic balance” or “pelvic balancing”. This deals with all complaints relating to the pelvis, which can be due to your posture and pregnancy hormones.
Pressure point stimulation can help tense muscle and fascia around the pelvis back into their physiological position or state. The displaced sacroiliac joint and the pubic bone can thus regain their original position. “Pelvic balancing” can often lead to improved mobility of the pelvis and a significant reduction in pain.

However, in order to benefit from “pelvic balancing” for a longer period of time, the pregnant woman must become active herself and actively support pelvic mobility through exercises.
